On 25 February 2014, we turn 50. It was on this day, exactly half a century ago, that DHI was established as The Hydraulic Engineering Institute – an offshoot of the Technical University of Denmark. As our global knowledge and expertise increased by leaps and bounds, we soon extended our activities to different parts of the globe. We’re currently represented by more than 1,100 employees in 30 companies worldwide.

Our knowledge of water environments is second-to-none, and represents 50 years of dedicated research. Making our knowledge globally accessible to our clients and partners is vital to the continuing success of our quest. To do so, we channel our knowledge through our local teams – present in over 40 countries – and unique software.
Over the past 50 years, we’ve solved some of the toughest water-related challenges in over 140 countries worldwide – and we look forward to many more such successes in the future.
