Our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Antoine Labrosse – spoke in the Romanian Parliament on 28 November 2013. He was joined by Asger Kej (Director, DHI Foundation), Evzen Zeman (Managing Director, DHI Czech Republic) and Maria Cheveresan (Managing Director, DHI Romania).
Romania has a history of severe flooding along both its internal rivers and the Danube River. Climate change and the resulting change in rain patterns are one of the main causes of the floods. In addition to flooding, the country has also experienced coastal erosion along its Black Sea coast in recent years.
Antoine’s speech in the Parliament was therefore very relevant to Romania’s needs. He conducted a four-hour presentation as well as question & answer sessions on our experience helping with water management in cities and river basins. This includes:
- early warning and flood forecasting
- flood management
- 改善河流导航
- urban master planning to decrease leakage in pipe networks
- mining Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
- 气候变化的妊娠和分娩综合管理t assessment
Dr. Iulian Iancu, Vice President of the Commission for Industry and Commerce hosted the event. Deputies from the Deputy Chamber of the Parliament, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the main Water Board Administration, were also among the attendees.
